Media Advisory: SAHRC Free State Provincial Office conducts World Day of Social Justice

The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) Free State Provincial Office (FSPO) will commemorating World Day of Social Justice with the following Institution: University of the Free State Department of Sociology, Department of Justice and Constitutional Development as well as the Champions of Human Rights. Every year on February 20th, the World Day for Social Justice acts as a platform for raising awareness of global social justice concerns. Moreover, the World Day of Social Justice recognises the importance of promoting efforts to address challenges such as poverty, exclusion, employment, gender equity, and universal access to social well-being and justice.

According to the World Summit, social development aspires to promote social justice, solidarity, harmony, and equality within and between countries. Social justice, equality, and equity are the core ideals of all society. To create "a society for all," governments committed to developing a framework for action to promote social justice at the national, regional, and global levels. They also committed to promoting equitable income distribution and increased resource access through equity, equality, and opportunity for all. Governments also recognised that economic progress should promote equity.
