The purpose of the engagement is to present a report on the monitoring of Correctional Services Centres in the province. These Centres were monitored as part of the National Preventive Mechanism (NPM), where the Commission serves as the coordinating body in the country. The NPM's role is vital in monitoring and inspecting places of detention to ensure the rights of individuals deprived of their liberty are upheld and protected from abuse or mistreatment. Additionally, the Commission will discuss issues of cooperation and support to advance human rights in the province. This multifaceted approach underscores the importance of oversight and collaboration in safeguarding fundamental rights within detention facilities.
