The South African Human Rights Commission (the Commission) in the Northern Cape Province will be conducting a stakeholder engagement focused on promoting accountability and addressing human rights violations.
The Commission recognises that it operates in a dynamic landscape where the promotion, protection and monitoring of human rights requires collaborative efforts. Acknowledging that human rights are a shared responsibility, the Commission recognises the importance of fostering collaboration, cooperation, and partnership with stakeholders to promote accountability and address human rights violations.
The stakeholder engagement aims to:
• facilitate discussions on key human rights issues and accountability mechanisms.
• identify challenges and opportunities for promoting accountability and addressing human rights violations, and
• foster partnerships and collaborations for collective action towards human rights protection
The stakeholder engagement is scheduled to take place as follows:
