Media Advisory: The North West Provincial office of the South African Human Rights Commission’s Social Harmony Through National Effort (SHiNE) engagement.

The North West Provincial Office of the South African Human Rights Commission (Commission) is hosting an event to promote the Social Harmony National Effort (SHINE). The goal of SHINE is to encourage all South Africans to think about and take small but meaningful actions to promote respect, social harmony, solidarity, and healing in their homes and communities.

As its contribution to this national effort, the North West Provincial Office will have an engagement  to celebrate boy child under the theme “Navigating and embracing the uniqueness of boyhood through the journey to adulthood by prioritizing, boosting, restoring well-being and development of the boy child to have a gender equal world with confidence and purpose” The International Day of the Boy Child was established to recognise the rights and achievements of boys around the world and this day is celebrated annually on 16 May set aside to honour the potential of the boy child and his significance in the society.

The (NWPO) aims to play a part in moving society towards positive change, by bringing a boy child to focus so that they are equipped with skills and character to positively impact families and communities, and also to provide them with the opportunity to develop new skills through values like integrity, responsibility, humanity, kindness, courage honest and self-discipline in doing so we can change the current culture of violence and abuse.
