Attention: Editors and Reporters

14 JUNE 2024

The Gauteng Provincial Office (GPO) of the South African Human Rights Commission (Commission) and the Black Lawyers Associations Wits Student Chapter will be hosting a Lawyers Under 35 Dialogue to commemorate Youth Day.

South Africa celebrates Youth Day on 16 June annually to commemorate and celebrate young people's contribution to the struggle for freedom in South Africa. In commemoration of this freedom, the Commission will host a dialogue with the topic “Lawyers under 35 Talk” that speaks to the experiences of young, diverse legal professionals working in different industries in the legal sector.

The dialogue will be an open space where aspiring legal minds can discuss the challenges and opportunities for someone with a legal qualification and the different avenues to pursue post-graduation. This dialogue will be the first of many sessions and initiatives hosted by the Gauteng Provincial Office celebrating human rights, the youth, and different ways that young people can make an impact in society.

University Students from various South African institutions of higher learning are invited to join the dialogue and engage with the panelists.
