The South African Human Rights Commission (the Commission) in the Northern Cape Province will be conducting a community human rights champions empowerment workshop dedicated to empowering individuals and organisations who are at the forefront of advocating for human rights and social justice within their communities. It is envisaged that these individuals and organisations will, in turn, empower marginalised communities, minority groups and vulnerable people to access and realise their human rights and to deepen an understanding of human rights, as over time, levels of awareness increase through multiplier effects.
The empowerment workshop is scheduled to take place as follows:

New Park, Kimberley
The key objectives of the workshops are:
• to build knowledge and understanding of human rights.
• to empower individuals and communities to assert their rights.
• to inspire and motivate individuals and communities to take action.
• to build capacity for individuals and communities to promote and protect human rights.
• to equip individuals and organisations with knowledge, skills and resources needed to drive positive change and create lasting impact.
• to create a new generation of leaders who are passionate, knowledgeable, and committed to creating a more just and equitable society.
