These initiatives are undertaken in accordance with Section 184 (1) (c) and (d) of the South African Constitution, which mandates the SAHRC to provide human rights education, monitor and assess the observance of human rights across the nation.
Through these activities, the SAHRC aims to:
- Identify areas of potential human rights violations in healthcare facilities, schools’ infrastructure, and the National Preventative Mechanism (NPM) framework;
- facilitate redress where necessary to ensure that human rights are upheld and
- engage with the Mount Fletcher Community Parliament through an outreach program.
