Media Advisory: The SAHRC Northern Cape Provincial Office co-host the 2024 Provincial Final Oral rounds of the National School Moot Court Programme

The South African Human Rights Commission’s (the Commission) Northern Cape Provincial Office will be supporting the Northern Cape Department of Education (NCDoE) in hosting the Provincial Final Oral Rounds of the National School Moot Court Programme. The programme is a flagship initiative aimed at nurturing the next generation of legal professionals by providing them with an immersive experience in the field of law and courtroom proceedings.

The 2024 Provincial Final Oral Rounds is scheduled to take place as follows:

  • Date : Saturday, 07 September 2024
  • Time : 10:00 AM to 13:00 PM
  • Venue : Northern Cape High Court, Kimberley

The National School Moot Court Programme brings together selected school learners across the province to engage in mock trial scenarios that test their legal knowledge. Through a simulated court case, learners are given an opportunity to delve into hypothetical problems involving constitutional issues, develop critical thinking abilities and enhance their public speaking and argumentation skills.
