The workshop will focus on equipping students with the knowledge and tools to actively promote and protect human rights within their campus and broader communities. This interactive workshop forms part of the SAHRC’s broader mission to create an informed and active citizenry, particularly among young people, who are at the forefront of social justice movements. This workshop will cover several important and topical issues, including the work and the mandate of the SAHRC, the social media charter: rights and responsibilities for social media use, the Equality Act: unfair discrimination, hate speech, harassment, and the role of equality courts and the right to protest: your rights and responsibilities.
