This webinar will raise awareness and share knowledge about the challenges and opportunities in relation to the advancement of the right to “sufficient food” in South Africa.
The webinar aims to:
- Highlight the importance of food sovereignty as a framework for realising the constitutional right to sufficient food.
- Provide a platform for multi-stakeholder dialogue, including voices of government, academia, civil society, and communities.
- Amplify community practices and lived experiences that demonstrate pathways to food sovereignty.
- Create awareness, momentum and invite participation in the SAHRC’s upcoming public inquiry into hunger, the right to food and food sovereignty.
