Media Invite: SAHRC hosts press briefing on Jon Qwelane’ s Hate speech Judgment by the Equality Court

 ATTENTION: Editors and Reporters

 The South African Human Rights Commission(SAHRC) invites members of the media to a press briefing on the Jon Qwelane’ s hate speech Judgment that is due to be delivered at the South Gauteng Equality Court today.

The press briefing will take place as follows:

      VENUE:   SAHRC 4th Floor Main Boardroom at Forum 3 Braampark Office Park; 33 Hoofd Street in Braamfontein

       DATE:     18th August 2017

       TIME:       13:30 – 14:30

The Commission has received about 350 complaints on this matter which is the highest number it has ever received.

Prof Bongani Majola (SAHRC Chairperson), Adv. Priscilla Jana (SAHRC Deputy Chairperson), and Adv. Tseliso Thipanyane (SAHRC CEO) will address the media.
