Media Invite: SAHRC Free State Provincial Office in collaboration with Kgotla Ya Barolong Boo-Seleka hosts Heritage Day commemorative engagement.

The South African Human Rights Commission in collaboration with Kgotla Ya Barolong Boo-Seleka, will be hosting Heritage Day commemorative engagement. The engagement will be hosted under the theme: RECLAIMING, RESTORING AND CELEBRATING OUR LIVING HERITAGE.
Heritage day is celebrated annually as a national public holiday on 24 September. On this day, South Africans across the spectrum are encouraged to celebrate their diverse cultural heritage, shared historical, linguistic, collective memory, beliefs, customs, traditions, rituals, indigenous knowledge systems, food, and  oral history.  
The objectives of the commemorative engagement are:
•    To promote and protect the heritages and cultures of the people of Free State;
•    To identify, connect and work with traditional communities and leadership;
•    To foster a human rights culture on the basis of equal rights and human dignity; and
•    To empower traditional and rural communities with information to identify human rights violations and how to report them.
•    Enhance sustainable working relationships.

The details of the Heritage Day Commemorative Engagement are as follows:
