The South African Human Rights Commission (Commission) in partnership with the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development will conduct an outreach clinic/ roadshow in the uMhlathuze Local Municipality from 23 – 27 October 2017. The following areas will be visited viz. Mzingazi, Nseleni, Esikhawini, Ngwelezane and Dlangezwa (Vulindlela).
The intervention is designed to promote human rights awareness within the area, to increase visibility and to provide easy access to the Commission. It will also provide a platform for communities to engage directly with the Commission on human rights violations that affect them. The Commission will use the intervention to promote awareness regarding the monthly “Helpdesk”, which it intends setting up at Empangeni Magistrate Court.
