The National Information Officers Forum

The Commission and the Open Democracy Advice Centre hosted the National Information Officers Forum on the International Right to Know Day, 28 September 2010, at the Sunnyside Park Hotel in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

The event sought to raise awareness, improve implementation and incentivize best practice of the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA) within public bodies. A number of practitioners, academics, civil society organizations and political champions participated in the event to support openness, transparency, accountability and public participation in South Africa.
