The commission has been commenting after Durban man, Kessie Nair, posted a video on social media in which he called President Cyril Ramaphosa the k-word on several occasions. He also called for Ramaphosa to be charged with fraud and treason.
Nair's name trended on Twitter this week - with many people labelling him a racist. He was arrested by the Hawks on Wednesday and made a brief appearance in court this week.
The commission's Gushwell Brooks says they strongly condemn the incident.

"The commissioners of the Human Rights Commission resolved that they condemn in the strongest terms the use of the word by him in the video that went viral", he said.
"We at once call on all South Africans not to tolerate this or to entertain these utterances", Brooks said.
Nair has since apologised for the video. His family has also said he needs immediate medical attention and lacked an understanding of what he said.
