    Overcrowding crisis in Cape Town schools

    CAPE TOWN - Teachers at some Cape Town schools have to deal with more than 100 pupils each day.

    The Western Cape Education Department says processes are in place to deal with troubles facing Cape Town schools.
    Some children have not been taught this year because of staff shortages.

    During a surprise visit, the South African Human Rights Commission discovered that children don’t have a school building of their own and teachers are forced to educate 100 of them at a time in Mfuleni.  Human Rights Commissioners had to step in following calls from disgruntled parents over the quality of education their children are receiving.
