2 die in Eastern Cape floods

EASTERN CAPE - Two people have died following heavy rains in the Chris Hani District of the Eastern Cape.

Rescue teams are searching for more people who might have been swept away by floods.

Hundreds of people had to be evacuated after the Komani River burst its banks.

The province has been lashed by torrential rains this week, which has led to flooding.

The SA Human Rights Commission says the government needs to start prioritising disaster management and climate change.
