Water And Sanitation Minister to release report on drinking water quality

Water and Sanitation Minister Senzo Mchunu will release the report on the quality of our drinking water. The Blue, Green and No Drop Certification programme is a regulatory mechanism for the department to improve municipal drinking water quality, wastewater management as well as water conservation and demand management.

Water and Sanitation minister comments on SAHRC ruling The report will outline how various municipalities are performing in terms of their constitutional mandate. It will also outline interventions that are being put in place to strengthen regulations and support to those struggling to provide basic services. The last report published in June showed there was a decline in drinking water quality and an increase in non-revenue water.
