SAHRC appoints new CEO

Lindiwe Khumalo is the Chief Executive Officer of the Commission. She was appointed to serve in this capacity with effect from 1 May, 2015. Prior to this position, Ms Khumalo was the Chief Operations Officer, overseeing the execution of the core business of the Commission nationally,
which include legal services, research, advocacy and outreach and access to information in all 9 Provinces of the country. Before being appointed to head operations, Ms Khumalo served in the Commission as Provincial Manager overseeing operations in the Free State Province. Ms Khumalo is an admitted attorney with over 15 years practice as an attorney. She holds a Bachelor of Laws, Masters in Law (specialising in Human Rights & Democratisation in Africa) is currently pursuing an Doctorate of Laws Degree.
