SAHRC to investigate more cases of poor service delivery in the NW

12 September 2017

The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) says the lack of service delivery in the North West continues to be a major concern.

This comes amidst an increased number of human rights violation cases relating to the lack of adequate water and sanitation among, other basic necessities. The SAHRC’s Provincial Manager, Mpho Boikanyo, says the commission is currently investigating a number of cases relating to the lack of service delivery and the violation of human dignity. She says reports regarding some of the cases can be expected soon.

“We are receiving an increase in the number of human rights violations relating to service delivery, and also second to that is the violation relating to equality, human dignity and hate speech.”

Boikanyo appeals to residents experiencing similar challenges to come forward to their provincial offices or contact them on 014 592 0694.
