Call for submissions, Investigative Hearing: Inequality in Eldorado Park and surrounding areas and School Disruption at Klipspruit West

Following the recent service delivery protests in Eldorado Park and surrounding areas, allegations of racial tensions in the community and the disruption of schooling at Klipspruit West Secondary School, the South African Human Rights Commission (Commission) will hold a public investigative hearing. 

The purpose of the hearing is to investigate issues relating to allegations racism, marginalisation, inequality, and excessive force during service delivery protests. For a full list of issues for investigation please refer to the attached Terms of Reference.  

Written submissions:
Members of the Eldorado Park Community and surrounding areas, organisations, interest groups are invited to make written submissions to the Commission.
Please refer to the Terms of Reference to fully address the issues for investigation in your written submissions.
Written submissions must reach the Commission by Thursday, 5 October 2017.
