The lobby group African Diaspora Forum (ADF) is looking for general amnesty for all undocumented immigrants in SA.
The organisation’s chairperson‚ Marc Gbaffou‚ was speaking at the South African Human Rights Commission’s (SAHRC) two-day national investigative hearing on migration‚ xenophobia and social cohesion hearings.
"Many immigrants’ kids cannot go to school because their parents are illegal in this country‚ making the children illegal as well. Although the South African Constitution stipulates that every child has a right to education‚ some children of immigrants have continuously been denied these rights‚" Gbaffou said.

“You are doing too much damage by trying to protect South Africa.”
These were the words of Marc Gbaffou, chairperson of African Diaspora Forum during the National Investigative Hearing on Migration, Xenophobia and Social Cohesion held by the South African Human Rights Commission in Johannesburg yesterday.
Gbaffou has written a letter to President Jacob Zuma, requesting that all undocumented immigrants living in South Africa be granted general amnesty.

The SA Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) has blamed education officials for the deaths of three pupils at the North West School for the Deaf in August 2014.
The commission said on Wednesday that department officials‚ including Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga‚ were responsible for the pupils burning to death at their hostel in Leeudoringsstad.

The Commission added that they further found that the human rights and dignity of the learners were not protected.
The South African Human Rights Commission (the SAHRC) announced on Wednesday that they had found that various education leaders in the North West had failed to comply with legislation and policy following an investigation into a fire that killed three learners at the North West School for the Deaf (NWSD) in Leeudoringsstad in August 2015.

The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) has confirmed it has received a complaint about the cancelled screening of the movie Inxeba: The Wound following protests, threats of intimidation and violence.
The film has received a lot of criticism following its release with claims that it violates the sanctity of cultural practices, which by nature are secret.

The Inkatha Freedom Party calls on the South African Human Rights Commission to urgently institute its own investigation into the reports that workers’ rights are being violated at King Edward VIII Hospital in Durban.
“Workers employed in the maintenance hospital department are complaining that since 2015 they have not been provided with protective clothing and they are wearing worn out clothing. If they raise this issue with relevant authorities their complaints fall on deaf ears.
