The SAHRC will make submissions on Thursday, 14 August 2025 on constitutional issues that have significant implications for land rights and traditional governance in South Africa.

In marking 69 years since approximately 20,000 women confronted the wrath of the apartheid government and marched to the Union Buildings to protest against the pass laws, the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC/ the Commission) commemorate the 2025 National Women’s Day 2025 by paying tribute to the role being played by women in shaping society. Women have always been at the forefront of advancing the realisation of human rights, even in the pre democratic dispensation.
