    ALLEGATIONS of sexual harassment have surfaced at Primedia Broadcasting after a senior staff member was put on special leave in what the company referred to as misconduct.
    According to a close source, 15 women were sexually harassed by the senior staff member and at least two women have spoken out.

    The Democratic Alliance, the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC), and the Public Protector will be meeting this week to discuss the quality of water in Mangaung.

    The DA says the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality should be held accountable for the discolouration and sandy smell in the water. According to DA councillor and water expert, Rossouw Botes, tests have indicated that very high levels of E-coli and coliform bacteria are present in the water. However, several weeks after the incident was first reported to the Municipality, residents in the city are still experiencing a distinct odour, change in colour and taste in the water.

    Higher Education and Training Deputy Minister Buti Manamela described as “barbaric” the racially motivated assault of long-distance runner Thabang Mosiako.
    Manamela said this during a press briefing after visiting the North West University (NWU) in Potchefstroom on Wednesday.
    Mosiako was left injured and had to suspend his preparations for the continental athletics tournament in Algeria after he was attacked by a group said to be NWU students.

    Former Sodwana Bay guesthouse owner André Slade has been fined R50 000, payable to a charity, for racist remarks he made in 2016.
    The Equality Court in Ubombo, Zululand, this week ruled that Slade’s comments and conduct amounted to unfair discrimination on the ground of race and hate speech and that they went against the constitution.

    The lobby group African Diaspora Forum (ADF) is looking for general amnesty for all undocumented immigrants in SA.
    The organisation’s chairperson‚ Marc Gbaffou‚ was speaking at the South African Human Rights Commission’s (SAHRC) two-day national investigative hearing on migration‚ xenophobia and social cohesion hearings.
    "Many immigrants’ kids cannot go to school because their parents are illegal in this country‚ making the children illegal as well. Although the South African Constitution stipulates that every child has a right to education‚ some children of immigrants have continuously been denied these rights‚" Gbaffou said.
