FF Plus leader Pieter Groenewald says it is time action is taken against Malema ‘in the interests of everyone in the country’.
The Freedom Front (FF) Plus has lodged a complaint with the SA Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) against Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema and party supporters for singing “Kill the Boer” in Senekal, Free State on Friday.

Durban - TRIBUTES have been pouring in for renowned human rights lawyer Priscilla Jana, who died on Saturday, aged 76.
The SA Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) said the country “has lost a giant who sacrificed herself selflessly for us all to enjoy the fruits of the constitutional democracy that we enjoy today”.

The South African Communist Party (SACP) sends its deepest condolences to the family of Priscilla Jana, who died on Saturday 10 October 2020, aged 76. Popularly known as a peoples’ lawyer, Jana, a human rights lawyer, selflessly represented many political prisoners during the apartheid era, most notably Solomon Mahlangu who was hanged by the apartheid regime.

The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) has proposed a review of the Public Protector Act in order to enhance efforts to combat corruption. In a webinar earlier today, the SAHRC said it would like to see a tightening of existing legislative frameworks.

MTN has been hauled to the SA Human Rights Commission (SAHRC), over claims of discrimination, by a black empowerment consortium, which wants the telco investigated for allegedly violating the Bill of Rights when conducting business.
Eliovect, the black economic empowerment outfit, lodged a complaint with the human rights watchdog in July for alleged discrimination, claiming MTN backed out of an agreed contract to distribute airtime.

Dr Danny Titus passed on at the age of 63.

The SA Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) met with various Gauteng departments on Tuesday to find solutions which would see the currently unoccupied R82 million Mayibuye Primary School in Midrand operational in the 2021 academic year.
SAHRC Gauteng head Buang Jones told News24 that the commission met with the Gauteng Department of Education, the Department of Infrastructure Development (DID) and the City of Johannesburg to iron out a way forward.

A former commissioner of the SA Human Rights Commission, Danny Titus, has died at the age of 63.
The commission said Titus died on Friday, after being in a coma since undergoing eye surgery in July.
He is survived by his two daughters, Daléne and Neriska, who shared their memories of their dad, praising him for being a devoted family man in addition to living a life worthy of being emulated, describing him as “kind, intelligent and generous”.

JOHANNESBURG - South African rights groups have vowed to petition the United Nations and African Union over the latest ruling that the country's Olympic 800-metre champion Caster Semenya cannot compete unless she takes hormone-suppressing drugs.
Switzerland's Supreme Court last week dismissed Semenya's appeal against a decision by the Court of Arbitration for Sport on eligibility criteria for athletes with differences of sexual development (DSD).

The Commission for Gender Equality (CGE) says it will engage with government, including President Cyril Ramaphosa, as well as the United Nations to ensure that what it calls ‘discriminatory’ regulations of the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) are not implemented.
