On Monday 10 May at 10h00, the South African Human Rights Commission (“the Commission” or “SAHRC”) will convene its inquiry into the allegations of prohibition of use of languages at Stellenbosch University (“SU”) at its provincial office in Cape Town. This inquiry comes as a result of the Commission opening an investigation after receiving a number of complaints alleging that students at Stellenbosch University (“SU”) are being prevented from communicating in selected languages.
